Reid State Community College offers a variety of scholarships designed to support students who demonstrate hard work, leadership, and a commitment to success. These opportunities help make college more affordable for future and current students, along with individuals pursuing career-focused pathways.
The deadline for academic and leadership scholarships is April 15. Scholarship applicants must first apply to Reid State and have a student ID number (an 'A' Number) prior to completing a scholarship application. A complete application must include proof of FAFSA completion and a copy of the most recent transcript.
Note: Reid State students who are on an Academic/Leadership scholarship DO NOT need to complete an additional application.

Institutional Scholarships
Institutional scholarships provide a partial or full tuition scholarship reusable annually for the duration of the program attempted, providing the student continues to maintain satisfactory academic progress, appropriate attitude and service to the college and the community at large.
Eligibility:
Academic Scholarship
Academic scholarships are available for first-time, transfer or current Reid State students. The academic scholarship covers tuition and fees up to $4,000 per academic year. Only in approved circumstances will scholarships be awarded for less than full-time status. In these circumstances, scholarship dollars may be prorated when status is less than full-time.
Leadership Scholarship
Leadership scholarships are available for first-time, transfer or current Reid State students. Leadership Scholarships are awarded on the basis of achievement in leadership positions in high school or community, church, or civic organizations, and commitment to Reid State. The leadership scholarship covers tuition and fees up to $3,000 per academic year. Only in approved circumstances will scholarships be awarded for less than full-time status. In these circumstances, scholarship dollars may be prorated when status is less than full-time.
Minimum Requirements for New Students: 2.5 GPA and leadership abilities demonstrated by an active leadership position in high school or community, church, or civic organizations.
Minimum Requirements for Current Students: 3.0 GPA and at least 12 credit hours earned at Reid State.
External Scholarships
Reid State Community College offers a variety of external scholarships to support students at different stages of their academic journey. Opportunities include Foundation-funded scholarships and select external scholarships administered through the College.
Please Note:The scholarships listed below are separate from institutional scholarships managed by the Financial Aid Office. Institutional scholarships may have different deadlines and require a separate application.
Edith A. Gray Endowment Scholarship
(For High School Seniors Only)
Funded by the Reid State Community College Foundation, the Edith A. Gray Endowment Scholarship is available exclusively to graduating high school seniors who plan to attend Reid State. This scholarship helps ease the financial transition from high school to college.
Application Deadline: Accepting Applications Jan. 2 through April 15.

Scholarships for New and Returning Students
Applications are now open for a variety of scholarships for new and returning students enrolling in Summer 2025. These include Foundation and external scholarships that help cover tuition, fees, and other education-related expenses.
Students only need to complete one application to be considered for all eligible awards. Based on responses and supporting documentation, applicants will be matched with the scholarship that best fits their needs.

Assists students who are members of special populations as defined by federal Perkins guidelines (e.g., single parents, individuals with disabilities, low-income students). - Alabama Centers for Rural Healthcare Opportunity Scholarship
Reserved for students enrolled in the Practical Nursing program at the Georgiana Instructional Service Center, aimed at strengthening healthcare in Alabama’s rural communities.

South Alabama Rural Training (SART) Scholarship
Eligibility & Selection: Student/program eligibility criteria, priority populations, and how selections are made.
Students must live in Butler, Clarke, Conecuh, Escambia, or Monroe County.
Program is intended for students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Students must be 18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or GED.
Students cannot receive FASFA, or if they do, it must be very limited.
Veterans or family members of veterans are given preferential treatment.
Prior (recent) or current healthcare experience is not required, but does help in the selection process.
Once applicants are screened, some will be offered
interviews.
After interviews are completed, final decisions will be made.
