Why Reid State Community College?
Reid State is one of the 24 community colleges that make up the Alabama Community College System and is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award the associate degree.
Many students complete their first two years at Reid State before transferring to a four-year college or university as an affordable path to earning the same bachelor’s degree.
Transfer to a 4-Year University
Reid State offers comprehensive associate degree pathways to prepare our students for immediate career placement or a smooth transition into four-year universities.
Community college tuition is significantly lower than tuition at Alabama’s public universities where students can save thousands of dollars over the first two years. Lower costs often mean graduating with little or no student loan debt.
Additional Advantages to Consider
- Smaller class sizes
- More one-on-one interaction with instructors
- Greater access to tutoring and academic support
- Flexible scheduling with evening and online classes
For students who aren't quite ready to move away from home or jump into a large university environment, they often find the transition from high school to college much easier.
In addition to our flexible course formats, and easy application process, we offer a variety of scholarships and financial aid.
